Goosetown Tavern presents Sophia Eliana with Blaise Carpenter and Areymá on Friday, August 22nd.
Sophia Eliana’s sophomore album, Glitter Bug, is a joyous journey where melodies shimmer like sparkly eyeshadow, field recordings peek through synth pads like crickets at dusk, and fuzzy electric guitars scratch the brain like the sweet, dirty relief of a mosquito bite you just can’t resist. Co-produced by Sophia Eliana, Noah Dearborn, and Jacob Williams, the album was engineered by Williams and mixed by Dearborn at The Wonderhaus in Glendale, CA, then mastered by Willow Edge at Bakery Mastering in Los Angeles. Glitter Bug is an album that invites listeners to throw on a ridiculous amount of sequins, roll in the grass, and let themselves shine like a big fat star in the sky. Sophia Eliana is a Denver-based queer folk musician, florist, and dancer originally from Monterey, California. Her undergraduate studies began as a voice principal at Berklee College of Music in Valencia, Spain. Among sheep and root vegetables, she concluded her undergraduate studies farming at College of the Atlantic on Mount Desert Island, Maine. Sophia Eliana has embarked on multiple national and international tours, performing at venues such as Mengi (Reykjavik, Iceland), The Artist bar Valencia (Valencia, Spain), Sonoma Bluegrass & Folk Festival (Sonoma, CA), and Underground Music Showcase (Denver, CO). Anyone attending Sophia Eliana’s concerts are guaranteed to walk away with a belly full of giggles and an ooey-gooey heart. Glittery and bug-themed apparel is highly encouraged for those attending this album release show. www.sophiaeliana.com
