Goosetown BBQ Bar & Restaurant Open 7 days a week!

The Goosetown Tavern, est 1998, is located in Denver at the corner of Colfax Ave in historic Congress Park, right across the street from the Bluebird Theater. The Goosetown Tavern is all about BBQ, community, music, sports and having fun! We also have Happy Hour everyday from 4-7p!

Plenty of free parking is nearby with two lots off Colfax between Adams and Cook and on-street parking is also available.

What’s up with the name??

Goosetown is named for a historic bar in Golden, Colorado. A German immigrant, Julius Shultz, originally built the Goosetown Tavern in 1873. Upon demolition of the original bar in 1998 John Hickenlooper, founder of the Wynkoop Brewing Company, former Denver Mayor, Colorado Governor, and Colorado Senator, salvaged the bars and booths and restored them in the Goosetown Tavern.

Fast Forward to today at the Goosetown Tavern BBQ, where we cook our meats slow and low using a post oak powered smoker. We offer juicy brisket, yummy pulled pork, smoked meat tacos and vegan BBQ tofu sandwiches. We have much more to offer in addition to BBQ including Nashville Hot Dry Rub Wings, Chicken Sandwiches, Creamy White Cheddar Mac-n-Cheese, Fried Okra, and our super tasty Smashburger.
